I thought it might be a good idea to let the reader know what kind of person I am, so here is a little bit about me.

No matter what kind of chat room people go to, they always get asked the same question with three simple letters (asl), so here's mine.
Age: 27
Sex: Male
Location: Clovis, NM

I was born a twin in Jacksonville, Fla on September 16, 1982. Raised as a Navy brat, I got to see much of the United States. We moved around a lot in California when I was young, staying mostly in San Diego. I also ran back and forth between South Carolina and Virginia in my early teens. When I was sixteen my mom retired from the Navy and we moved to southwest Texas, where I finished high school with a graduating class of about a dozen.

From there I went to a technical college studying automotive technology. About three semesters into the program I wrecked a three-wheeler and became paralyzed from the waist down. This made me unable to pursue the automotive degree and career, except through costly additions and changes to the equipment available at the college, so I gave it up and moved to where I am now in New Mexico. Having always been in fields that required hard labor, it was a good thing I still had my brains and imagination to fall back on. Not a bad trade-off, considering I've finished three books and am working on another. All I need now is to get them published.

Unfortunately, as any published author can tell you this has proved to be a daunting task. Agents and publishers typically sign the author who is either a) writing the tried and true, safe material, or b) writing something so groud-breaking that they can't turn it down. I assume my writing is somewhere in the middle.

My girlfriend at the time inspired me to do more with my life. I decided to go back to college so I could make more money than the government was paying me for my disability. And since my characters were not being published in books, I thought my next best option would be to try to put them into video games. I started on course to get my BS in Game Software Development. During that process I have married that inspiring girlfriend and gotten a job and a subsequent promotion within that same company.

Now I had the woman, a good job, and a degree I am proud of, but it would be more than a year later before my characters could be seen. I have not built a game with them in it yet (still working on that, too), but one of my books has been published! It is not a traditional publisher, but the publish-on-demand site is the next best thing. I will also be looking into publishing others on that site, as well as several e-publishers that can sell my book in the .PDF format. We'll see how that all goes. Wish me luck!
